A couple weeks ago I had a new opportunity presented to me. I was asked by a woman in my church if I would be willing to take pictures with a lighting set up and act as a photo booth for them to have something special to remember the formal with. I was only too happy to oblige and donated my time and talent to the event. I had a wonderful time planning and hanging out with these wonderful teens on their special night! There were reluctant boys and future models, hams and shy girls. The night was wonderful and I hope they and you enjoy these pictures!

Some of my favorite people who give me the honor of taking their portraits! We have little Emma, who is getting so big and loves her independence, her sweet parents who guide her to safety every time her independence takes her a little too close to the lake. I love this family!
I love taking portraits of kids that are happy and full of life; but it can also be a challenge. These 2 just start running and jumping and climbing when they decide they're done posing for me :) Always so fun and it allows me to get my workout at the same time!
I'm backed up with photos at the moment, September through October is very busy for weddings in Houston. I will post a few more in a day or so when I'm caught back up. But for now I wanted to announce the next Play Shop! The theme is Super heroes and I will have a comic book feel play space set up. Bring your child dressed as their favorite super hero or make up your own! I only ask that weapons, such as Thors Hammer, be made of very soft materials or left behind. We don't want any injuries. The date for this play shop is set for November 14th, slots will be available from 10 am to 2 pm taking up to 6 kids at a time.
Please join me for a heroic good time! p.s. - parents are invited to dress up and join in the fun, villains are needed as well :) Becky and Dallas joined together as one family in front of friends and family. Their 2 beautiful daughters joined the ceremony as flower girls and were just about the sweetest things I'd ever seen. The older girl surprised her Mom by singing her a special song after their first dance. It brought several to tears It was a beautiful moment that will be cherished.
This little bundle was such a joy to work with! From peek a boo to eating balloons and trying to run away we had great fun capturing these moments! Happy Birthday Emma! have a great year of learning and discovery!
Meet Mai and Ken, The sweetest couple ever. Their ceremony was filled with joy, love, sweet glances, a choked up groom and a giggling bride. The Tea ceremony was a beautiful tradition of bringing the families together. The groom's family offered gifts to the brides family and the groom and groomsmen proffered bouquets to the Bride and her lovely maids. The couple then served tea to the parents and grandparents of both families and accepted gifts as a couple. A prayer was said over a shrine to the grandparents who have passed from this life. The reception was loaded with friends and family offering toasts and congratulations, red envelopes passed to the bride and groom as they visited table after table. They are a couple well loved and who very deeply love each other! I wish them every happiness and the strength to have a lasting beautiful marriage!
A beautiful evening spent with this beautiful girl discussing the excitement of turning 15 and the joy of life!

Kapri DurtschiFirst of all, thank you for visiting! I'm so glad to have you here! Let me tell you a little about myself and how I got started. I ran around with a camera as a child but it never occurred to me that photography could be a career. It wasn't until I was in college studying to become a veterinarian that I realized I would much rather be taking pictures and studying photography than anatomy. I shot my first wedding in 2008 and fell in love! I get lost in the magic every time! I branched out to shoot portraits and create fine art images soon after. I love my job and hope you'll let me share that with you! Archives
