The scene is a backyard. Of a mansion. The home belonging to the Grooms Father's girlfriends father, It's complicated I know but the ambiance was simply beautiful.
The bride, a NICU nurse, and the groom, her high school sweet heart, were separated for 20 years before getting back together and realizing that they never wanted to be separated again. They had a teenage picture displayed with the cake showing them how they were so long ago. The behavior they displayed at the cake cutting was very reminiscent of the sweet and silly relationship captured in that moment. Congratulations and hoping for many happy years together!

This lovely Mom to be and her family were so sweet and excited for the new addition to their little family. Big sister was always giving baby kisses and hugs. It was a lovely day at Mercer park for these photos. They opted to not find out the sex of the baby and so she is holding both names that they have chosen and wanted to remember and display the fact that they didn't know ahead of time. I loved it! Looking forward to the birth of tiny Beckett or Eliza!
This wedding started with a traditional Indian Engagement Sari presentation and party on Thursday. The bride and groom met outside first for some portraits and then entered the building with family, 2 at a time. The bride received her gifts, including a Sari which she then was ceremoniously dressed in. Tilak, also known as Bindi, was then applied by the future inlaws and a handfull of rice was pressed into the vermillion dot. The amount of rice that sticks is to signify the amount of children they will have. Jewelry was then presented and adorned. Once this Beauty was blessed and dressed it became the grooms turn. Then they were presented gifts from all members of the family and then other members of both families took turns on the dias receiving blessings and gifts to come together as one family.
The actual wedding ceremony was then held on Saturday at Taj Hall. The hall was filled with Gold and white to celebrate the wedding. The families enter, once again, 2 at a time. The groom sits in his throne and awaits his Bride. They sit together with witnesses standing behind them while the priest recites the ritual chants and tosses rice at the couple and toward the witnesses. Following the ceremony the entire hall lined up to congratulate the couple and present gifts. The Party that followed was one of the best celebrations I've ever had the privilege to capture! Fruit cake, Traditional ceremonial Dress, and Goat curry!
This sweet intimate wedding was tender and loving. This was a great start to the 2016 wedding season and I'm looking forward to all that this year has in store! I had the privilege to photograph my lovely Cousin and her fiancee at his family ranch in Austin, Tx this January. It was freezing out but these two warmed up with sweaters, blankets, and the love they have for each other!
This spring, beginning March 1st and going through May 31st get 20% off your personalized package! Just mention the spring promo and you're set! Over the next month I'll be participating in a pioneer reenactment trip. The fun began for me last Saturday with a training day! All the adults who will be participating learned how to load, pull, and unload a hand cart, carts that they had made mostly themselves, procuring the wheels and axles from Amish builders to ensure quality and accuracy. They also learned safety measures and a few tricks to help along the journey. There was a great demonstration of songs that will be learned and sang along the trail. A young girl joined her parents in singing Cockles and Mussles to help get everyone in the spirit of things. Everyone then went through some songs. A cooking demonstration using dutch ovens and a small camp burner. The food was delicious and only took about 45 minutes to cook dinner and dessert! After eating everyone joined in a circle to learn some fun games and there was laughter all around. Once everyone had learned the games, they gathered back at the main site and a few special stories were shared of those who had pioneers in their ancestry and were doing this in their honor. All in all it was a fantastic day and
This was a great family session! Held the day after Christmas to make sure the whole family would be in town, coming in from all over the country. The young cousins were joyous to be in each others company and the siblings were only too glad to be together.
Just about the sweetest most spiritual couple I've had the privilege to shoot for. The afternoon started with some sweet family photos, then on to the ceremony that involved laughter, prayers, tears and more prayers. The reception that followed was filled with much of the same but also some cake in the face, a fight over the garter and dancing the night away!
I love this family! These kids are sweet, playful, and super photogenic! This Family session was literally a walk in the park.
These guys are troopers! It was 45* out and drizzling but these little cuties were all smiles and silliness. They had a ball helping pick spots to take pictures.

Kapri DurtschiFirst of all, thank you for visiting! I'm so glad to have you here! Let me tell you a little about myself and how I got started. I ran around with a camera as a child but it never occurred to me that photography could be a career. It wasn't until I was in college studying to become a veterinarian that I realized I would much rather be taking pictures and studying photography than anatomy. I shot my first wedding in 2008 and fell in love! I get lost in the magic every time! I branched out to shoot portraits and create fine art images soon after. I love my job and hope you'll let me share that with you! Archives
